What is ESP?

Esp - Extrasensory perception is the term used to describe a means of getting information from other than the five senses that everyone uses as their primary means. The five senses are seeing, feeling, smelling, tasting, and hearing. These are considered to be our 'normal' senses and any sense or gathering of information, is said to be 'extra', or out of the ordinary.
When a person develops their ESP, they have increased their mind power by a quantum leap above other people. It enables them to send and receive information almost at will to influence things that are important to them.

Esp is mental telepathy, our other sense

Mind reading, clairvoyance, precognition are all perceived through mental telepathy, . Mental telepathy makes possible the "knowing" about past  future  or current events that is not supposed to  be part of our knowledge.
When someone demonstrates an ability to send and receive information that is not part of their five ordinary senses, it is placed in the realm of "extra" almost as though it was bizarre or abnormal and not part of the human psyche or sense abilities. However, telepathic ability is available to all those willing to practice and learn how to increase this talent that is given to everyone at birth.

Psychics and mediums use extrasensory perception

This is how clairvoyants, psychics and mediums know secret and private information about another person's life and are able to advise them. Some of them discovered that they had the ability at a young age and some not until later in their life. But they all have one thing in common. They made a decision not to ignore it, but rather to improve and cultivate it through patience, practice and effort. Many people can now benefit from their diligence and persistence in their own self development.

Types of ESP

Extra­sensory perception is a collective term for various hypothetical mental abilities. These abilities (along with other paranormal phenomena) are also referred to as psi.
The major types of ESP are:

• Telepathy: the ability to read another person's thoughts
• Clairvoyance: the ability to "see" events or objects happening somewhere else
• Precognition: the ability to see the future
• Retrocognition: the ability to see into the distant past
• Mediumship: the ability to channel dead spirits
• Psychometry: the ability to read information about a person or place by touching a physical object

A closely related psi phenomenon, not technically part of ESP, is telekinesis, the ability to alter the physical world with mind power alone. Needless to say, this theory is also completely outside our scientific understanding of the world. But, according to the theory's proponents, it's not supposed to fit into that conception. Like the concepts of God or an afterlife, the hypothetical reality would not rely on the physical laws of the universe. It would depend on the existence of a soul of some sort.
So, given that it's completely at odds with our understanding of the world, why do so many people believe in ESP? In the next section, we'll find out some of the reasons for this belief, and we'll see what scientific evidence supports it.
